To-Do List has been recognized for general excellence with an Utne Reader Alternative Press Award, Reader’s Choice for Best New Magazine, 2000. We’ve introduced the quirkyalone concept, and that magazine has received a host of media attention on its own merits, including national recognition on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” and in a BBC documentary, Foxnews.com, San Francisco Bay Guardian, SF Weekly, San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, Chicago Tribune, Writer’s Digest, and more.

We are are at a crossroads now. For its first three years, the magazine has been entirely vounteer-run, funded by subscribers, contributions (on a small-scale from interested readers—we have neither corporate sponsorship nor parents who support us), and small business advertisers. Now the publisher of the magazine (Sasha Cagen) is seeking financial backing in order to turn To-Do List into a sustainable business that can continue to introduce new writers and new ideas.

A major gift or investment would make it possible for To-Do List to keep growing and provide you with more introspective essays, more fascinating lists, and more unpredictable original features. If you are interested in helping to grow the magazine or have ideas about how to sustain this unique venue, please contact the publisher at [email protected]
